Does more ptosis correction mean more defined, prettier eyes?👀 When ptosis correction is overdone, too much of the iris (the colored part of the eye) can show, and in severe cases, even the white of the eye above the iris may be visible. It can also become hard to close your eyes completely, which can lead to ✔ Stinging, irritated eyes ✔ Watery eyes ✔ Frequent eye discharge and other symptoms. We explain why ptosis correction is done and what problems can come up when it's overcorrected. ※ Surgical results and side effects may vary from person to person.

So the reason we do ptosis correction is for people with what we call ptosis, meaning the muscle that opens the eye is weak. Now, as for how much of the iris gets covered, when the eye is open, the eyelid should cover only about 10% of the iris
with a well-formed double eyelid. That's what we consider ideal. When ptosis correction is overdone, we're talking about 100% of the iris showing, or the white of the eye showing above the iris. When it's overdone, not only does it obviously not look good,
but you also can't fully close your eyes, so you get stinging eyes, tearing, and a lot of eye discharge, and side effects like that can occur.
