Bothered by dark circles, under-eye bags, and sagging skin?
- A tired look
- Dark circles that make you look dull
- Puffy under-eyes
- Bulging under-eye bags and sagging skin
- Loose skin
- Sagging under-eye skin that leads to fine lines
- Looking older
- Wrinkles and hollows that make you look older
“Under-eye fat and skin only sag more over time”
Under-eye shadows that even makeup can't hide drain the life from your face. Lower blepharoplasty lifts sagging muscle and repositions fat to create smooth, bright under-eyes
How do your under-eyes look right now?

20s
Defined eyes and full, smooth under-eyes

30s
Upper lids begin to droop, and bulging under-eye fat creates tear troughs

40s
Noticeably deeper under-eye shadows and sagging fat

50s
Irritated, raw skin around the eyes, puffier under-eyes, and deeper wrinkles
Lower blepharoplasty
- This surgery is for when, with age, the membrane holding the under-eye fat weakens and bulges, and loss of skin elasticity makes sagging and wrinkles stand out. A fine incision is made just below the lower lashes, the fat is repositioned, and loose skin and muscle are tightened for natural, firm under-eyes.
- Surgery time
- 1 hour
- Anesthesia
- Local anesthesia / IV sedation
- Follow-up visits
- 2 to 3 visits
- Recovery
- 5 to 7 days
- Stitch removal
- After 5 to 7 days
Who needs lower blepharoplasty
- Those with bulging under-eye fat and significant sagging skin and wrinkles
- Those who look tired because of dark circles and deep tear troughs
- Middle-aged patients whose sagging skin can't be resolved by under-eye fat repositioning alone
- Those who look older because of loose under-eye skin
How lower blepharoplasty is performed

01. Precise one-on-one design
A custom design based on the amount of under-eye wrinkling, the degree of sagging, and the amount of fat

02. Delicate incision
A precise incision made just below the lash line

03. Under-eye fat repositioning
Bulging fat is moved into the sunken tear trough to smooth out the area

04. Fixation and suturing
Loose excess skin is removed, and the muscle is anchored to the periosteum before the incision is closed

05. Result
Bright, refreshed eyes
Key points of our lower blepharoplasty
No worries about ectropion
Worried your lower eyelid might turn outward after surgery (ectropion)? We don't simply remove skin. We also perform lateral canthal fixation, firmly anchoring the weakened muscle around the eye (orbicularis oculi) to the periosteum. This keeps the eyelid from turning outward and holds the lifting effect steady.

Preserving aegyo-sal, the key to a youthful look
Under-eyes that are flattened too much can make your expression look harsh. We preserve as much of the natural aegyo-sal muscle (the soft roll just below the lower lashes) as possible, smoothing out wrinkles while keeping the natural fullness when you smile and a gentle look to your eyes.

Septum reinforcement and repositioning to prevent recurrence
If fat is only removed, the area can look hollow over time. We reposition bulging fat into the sunken tear trough and strengthen the loosened orbital septum, lowering the chance that the bags will return.

Incision technique that reduces scarring
A fine incision made right along the lash line keeps the scar hard to notice even right after surgery. Once you've healed, it hides naturally in the shadow of your lashes.
Check Point
Lower blepharoplasty
VS
Under-eye fat repositioning
Which surgery is right for you?
- Lower blepharoplasty
- An incision along the lower lash line is used to reposition fat and also correct sagging skin
- Under-eye fat repositioning
- An incision in the conjunctiva on the inside of the lower eyelid is used to reposition only the under-eye fat
