With eye surgery, most side effects show up early on. Early side effects can include things like the incision opening up, a hematoma, meaning blood collecting under the skin, or inflammation and infection. But with surgeries that use silicone, meaning an implant, like nose surgery or breast surgery, problems can also show up well after surgery, in the middle or later stages.
For example, the implant can shift, or the capsule surrounding the implant can develop capsular contracture, or inflammation or infection can occur later rather than early on. So if the surgical area turns a bit red, feels warm, or starts to hurt, it's a good idea to go straight back to the clinic where you had surgery
and get it checked. And if the clinic where you had surgery is no longer open, it's best to go to a plastic surgery clinic near you and get a consultation right away.
